STREETWISE
Streetwise is a young people’s (under 25’s) project based in the City Centre of Newcastle upon Tyne.
It’s a free, confidential and friendly advice centre.
Streetwise offer information and advice on any issue, sexual health and contraception (no appointment needed… just drop in) and have a free counselling service.
You can call during opening hours on 0191 230 5400.
CHILDLINE
ChildLine is the free helpline for children and young people in the UK. Children and young people can call them on 0800 1111 to talk about any problem – counsellors are there to help you sort it out.

Am I gay? was I born this way? Website featuring accounts from young gay men, including their coming to terms with their sexuality, coming out, and their experiences of talking about their feelings with friends and parents, as well as their expectations and concerns.

This site has been designed to introduce you to the Exceeding Expectations Initiative and to give you information about tackling homophobia and addressing sexuality with young people.
Information has taken from a wide range of sources including the Department for Children, Schools and Families guidance on Homophobic Bullying, Stonewall, EACH and Connexions to provide a local perspective informed by national guidance.
